Associate Co-Director

We’re looking for an Associate Co-Director to join Chol at an exciting moment in the organisation’s development.

This is a unique opportunity to combine creative practice with leadership development, helping shape the future of an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation whilst working directly with children, young people and communities.

The Associate Co-Director role is a paid leadership pathway within the Chol-Operative – Chol’s evolving collaborative leadership model.

We believe leadership should be more accessible, transparent and collaborative. This role has been created to support emerging leaders to develop experience in organisational leadership, programme development and strategic thinking within a supportive and values-led organisation. Read more about this here.

The role

3 days per week
The role combines:

  • Creative Delivery (2 days)
Leading creative projects, workshops and activities with children, young people and communities.
  • Leadership & Organisational Development (1 day)
Contributing to strategic thinking, partnerships, programme development and the future direction of Chol.

Who we’re looking for

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Have experience leading creative work with groups
  • Care about young people and communities
  • Believe in collaboration, equity and inclusion
  • Are excited by the idea of helping shape an organisation, not just delivering within it
  • Want to develop their leadership skills and experience

We recognise that valuable experience comes in many forms and we’d particularly encourage applications from people who have experienced barriers to accessing leadership opportunities within the arts sector.

We know people don’t always apply unless they meet every requirement, especially if they’ve faced barriers to accessing the arts or leadership opportunities.

If this role feels like it could be for you, even if you’re unsure, we’d really encourage you to apply.

We’re not looking for a perfect CV. We’re interested in your experience, your perspective, and your potential.

If you’d like to talk it through first, we’re always happy to have an informal, no-pressure chat.
