Chol is working in partnership with The Children’s Art School to recruit five young people aged 16 – 24 to become Our Biennale Young Producers and help shape an arts festival for children and young people across Kirklees.
Our Biennale is led by The Children’s Art School and brings together children, young people, artists, schools and communities to create and experience exciting arts activity across Kirklees.
This is a paid opportunity to share your ideas, develop new skills and learn what goes into creating arts projects, events and festivals.
You do not need previous experience of working in the arts or organising events. We’re interested in your ideas, your experiences and what you think would create brilliant opportunities for children and young people in Kirklees.
The opportunity
Our Biennale is an arts festival made with and for children and young people across Kirklees.
As a Young Producer, you will work alongside Chol, The Children’s Art School, artists and other creative organisations to help shape parts of the festival.
You will:
Help review ideas and proposals from artists
Share your views and make recommendations
Gather ideas from other children and young people
Learn about creative producing and event planning
Help develop and deliver up to two public events or activities
Meet artists and people working in creative organisations
Help us evaluate the programme and understand what worked
You will have meaningful opportunities to influence the Young Producers programme and contribute to decisions about what happens.
Payment and hours
Hours: 30 paid hours in total Pay: £14 per hour Total fee: £420 Programme dates: Late August 2026 to January 2027
The hours will be spread across the programme and will include activity during the October half-term period.
Wherever possible, dates and times will be planned with the selected Young Producers.

Previous arts experience
