On Saturday 15 September, we held Daytimers in Huddersfield, a vibrant performance packed with energy, music and dance to celebrate the secret underground music scene, Daytimers. This family-friendly show invited audiences of all ages to celebrate this extraordinary era.
Following this, on Sunday, hundreds of people joined us for ‘Hi Celebrate – Heritage in the Hudd’ event where we saw performances from along with a guided walk around Huddersfield Heritage Mile, led by Huddersfield High Street Heritage Action (HSHAZ) project officer John Lambe, with amazing food, local stalls and exhibitions and films all linked to Huddersfield’s heritage.
This was followed by an incredible TOWNSOUNDS street party presented by Let’s Go Yorkshire, celebrating Jamaican music, dance and good vibes
We would like to thank everyone who was part of this incredible weekend, and also thank once again to Arts Council England, Creative Minds, Historic England, Kirklees Year of Music 2023 and Kirklees Council.
Please see the photographs of Daytimers below, captured by Paul Floyd Blake.
We are beyond excited to share the incredible news that Chol has been awarded a WYCA Unlimited Micro Capital Grant to enhance the accessibility and inclusivity of the Cholavan!
