OFFSCRIPT: Youth Power Week is coming to Huddersfield!
This February, Huddersfield town centre is getting a creative takeover - and you’re invited.
OFFSCRIPT: Youth Power Week is a week long celebration of creativity, self-expression and youth voice, designed and led by young people for young people. From filmmaking and music production to metal workshops, performance and making, OFFSCRIPT is all about trying something new, meeting people and having your ideas heard.
Delivered by Chol and The Children’s Art School, OFFSCRIPT offers a welcoming space for young people aged 13 – 18 to explore their creativity in a relaxed, supportive environment.
What is OFFSCRIPT?
OFFSCRIPT is a youth-led creative programme where young people take the lead in shaping what happens. Throughout the week you can take part in hands on workshops, develop new skills, meet other young creatives and be part of something exciting happening right here in Huddersfield.
The week builds towards OFFSCRIPT on Saturday 21 February, a celebration packed with live music, making, fashion, performance and ideas.
Whether you want to try something new, express yourself creatively, or just hang out in a welcoming space – OFFSCRIPT is for you.
Monday 16 & Tuesday 17 February | 11:00am – 3:30pm
A dynamic film making workshop for young people aged 14-18yrs to explore all things filmmaking. From camera work, to acting, to prop making and lighting you will take part in making a very original short film about magic and creativity. You don’t need any previous experience, just bring your energy and be ready to create something special. Join for just day 1 or day 2, or sign up for both to see the process from start to finish.
Wednesday 18 & Thursday 19 February Sessions: 11:00 – 12:30 and 1:30 – 3.30pm
Get hands on with materials and experiment with creative metal-making techniques in these practical workshops. Perfect for anyone who enjoys working with their hands and trying something new.
Future Producer Workshops with JamFactory Music School (Ages 13 – 18)
Wednesday 18 & Friday 20 February | 11:00am – 2:00pm
Interested in music production? Learn how tracks are created, mixed and shaped in this exciting introduction to producing music. A great chance to build skills and explore future pathways in music.
This Stage Is Ours – Youth Performance with Chol Theatre
Monday 16th – Friday 20th | 1pm – 4pm each day
Work alongside artists and other young people to explore storytelling, performance and self-expression in a relaxed and supportive environment. No experience needed – just bring yourself.
The week finishes with a youth-led creative takeover event in Huddersfield – an afternoon and evening packed with energy, creativity and fun.

A campaign corner where young people share ideas that matter to them
Chill and quiet spaces
Creative feedback activities and interactive installations
Signposting stalls to help young people explore future opportunities
The Saturday event is a space to celebrate creativity, connect with others and experience the ideas young people have been developing throughout the week.
As part of the Saturday event, we’re also looking for young musicians to perform.
Two young bands will have the chance to receive mentoring from an experienced artist ahead of the event, and we’re also welcoming solo artists and bands who want to gain performance experience.
