Vicky Storey is a theatre director and artist practitioner, Vicky is also a post doctorate researcher at Manchester university where she teaches Drama Education based on Chol's unique practice 'Imaginary Communities'. Chol’s ‘equal playmakers’ methodology is inspired by Vicky's own PhD research into open-ended drama and story-making practices. Over the last 10 years Vicky has worked extensively in schools and communities developing new approaches to Drama Education and theatre making with young people. Vicky is passionate about finding new ways to co-create and collaborate with children and young people and continues to research and understand the impact that this kind of practice can have on confidence, aspirations, sense of self and community building.
Vicky first met and began working with Chol in 2009 when she moved back to Yorkshire after completing her MA in Applied Theatre at Central School of Speech and Drama in 2008. Vicky joined the Chol team in 2012 to lead the Imaginary Communities programme and has never looked back
