We have been very busy over the summer, here is a summary of what we got up to!
Bags of Creativity
This partnership between IVE, Local Cultural Education Partnerships (LCEPs) and social services delivered over 8000 bags packed with creative activities art materials to children and young people across Yorkshire and the Humber. The bags were designed to make sure all children and young people can be creative at home by providing everything they need in one place, and included activities designed by local artists.
We designed 6 postcards with creative activities that children and young people could take part in at home. These designs were included in bags in Rotherham and Sheffield. You can find our postcard designs on our Creative @Home page.
Zest Creative Packs
Lauren had a very busy weekend preparing 310 packs for Zest, an award winning community enterprise who deliver high quality and responsive services to local people across Hillsborough and Sheffield. The bags will be distributed to children and their families and contain a variety of materials and activities to inspire imagination and to help them create their very own imaginary world. Keep your eyes peeled on our website as we’ll be sharing some of these fabulous resources very soon!

Digital Workshops
Over the summer we ran a number of online workshops including Imaginary Communities CPD Wine and Play, a series of Summer Masterlasses, which were an introduction to working in the arts and a taster Online Tall Shadows Workshop, exploring the world of online drama and theatre experiences.
Thank you to all the amazing participants that took part in our variety of digital workshops.
Here’s what they had to say…
“I was inspired by how quickly and expertly Chol adapted the programme to an online learning experience and created a community of practitioners through their warmth, generosity and openess”
“It gave me a really great insight into how Imaginary Communities could be used with groups I work with – it made it very relatable and much easier to understand. I was a little nervous on occasion which helped me relate to how YP could be feeling. I loved the inclusiveness of the whole course.”
