Thursday 18th February – New Tricks: Home Studio Recording Workshop
2pm – 3.30pm (suitable for aged 14-18)
Turn your home into a recording studio and learn how to record your own poems in a fun and interactive digital skills workshop.
All participants will be provided with sound recorders and access to software that will enable you to professionally record your own work and edit your poems into small compositions. We will also be working with the BBC sound effects archives to add background layers to your work. By the end of the workshop you will have a completed piece of work that we can share online as part of Readathon Live Week.
All equipment will be delivered to participants in socially distanced drop-offs and collected the following week. Participants will be required to sign up to our safeguarding policy to take part.
The workshop is free of charge, so if you would like to attend, please email email@example.com. We have a limited number of places, and these will be assigned on a first come first served basis.
New Tricks are a strand of workshops developed by Site Gallery that aim to demystify the technology employed by artists and give participants the skills they need to set them on a path of creative exploration.
Open Poetry Performance Hosted by Nik Perring
This online performance session is open to anyone who has taken part in the workshops earlier in the week. This relaxed, fun performance will include poetry from local poets as well as the opportunity for any participants from earlier sessions to perform their own poems. Join as an audience member or join as a performer for an inspirational session.
These workshops are part of our Tall Shadows programme funded by Arts Council England.
