After months of exploration and preparation, the LISTEN 52 project is coming to a close, culminating in a final performance at Site Gallery in the centre of Sheffield, part of the Freshly Squeezed Weekender, a two-day festival of live music and workshops taking place in CIQ Square – programmed by and showcasing some of the most talented young creatives, musicians and producers in the city.
Taking place on Saturday 30 July at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm, at Studio 2, Site Gallery, Sheffield, S1 2BS, you will join the annual honorary ceremony to witness this year’s new recruits being plugged in and switched off from individual expression. The audience will witness a significant glitch that could change not only the future, but also the past 30 years for Sheffield’s Youth. Prepare to be jolted awake into the year 2052 as a group of young people in the future are initiated into Sheffield’s Mainframe.
The LISTEN 52 project is a youth leadership and arts engagement project in Sheffield. Local Young Producer Interns have been working with professional Artists and the Chol team to discover young people’s hopes and fears about what their world will be like, thirty years from now.
