Calling 16-21 year-olds, based in or around Sheffield who would like to be part of our radical new, year-long project Listen 52.
You DO NOT need any formal arts training to apply for this – we want to hear from people with a passion for social, environmental or economic justice with a creative soul!
As part of this 1.5 day-a-month paid position you’ll;
- work with professional artists to create a performance, digital or installation piece of art about the year 2052.
- help engage your peers around the city to express their hopes and concerns for the future.
- exhibit your work in Sheffield city centre next Summer.
- develop a social media strategy to promote the project and your profile as an artist

Listen 52
LISTEN 52 is a youth leadership and arts engagement project in Sheffield. Building to an ambitious city centre performance in Summer 2022. Eight Young Producers (16-21yrs) will join Chol to discover children and young people’s hopes and fears about what their world will be like 30 years from now.
The Listen 52 team will hit the road in Chol’s new mobile base, the Cholavan! We will get creative with hundreds of children and young people in their locality. The Young Producers will gather stories, recruit young performers, and build momentum towards their final event. During the final event, in Summer 22, audiences will witness large-scale projections, sound installations, and live performers sharing vital messages from the year 2052.
