Funding success for Imaginary Communities

We are over the moon to share that we have been successful in gaining funding support from Paul Hamlyn Foundation to work with partner schools across Yorkshire over the next four years.

This funding enables us to share our Imaginary Communities approach with hundreds of teachers and thousands of children between now and 2025. This is a core element of our programme, helping us work towards our mission to support children and young people across our region to feel powerful, connected, and valued in their everyday spaces.

Imaginary Communities encompasses Chol’s unique approach to teaching and learning, and has been continually developed over the last decade. Chol’s skilled and experienced team of artist educators work alongside teachers in schools across Yorkshire and beyond, to share new ways of engaging all children in learning through play and story-making. New story worlds are imagined and built and everyone in the class is invited to create their own character to help launch a brand new story and learning adventure.

On Monday 7 November 2021, the Chol team will begin working with teachers, children, and young people in Chellow Heights Special School in Bradford, Kings Oak Primary Learning Centre in Barnsley, and Northorpe Hall Child and Family Trust in Kirklees. We can’t wait to keep you all posted with the children’s adventures!

There are many more exciting opportunities for schools and partner organisations to get involved with the Imaginary Communities programme from January 2022. Please look out for further information coming out very soon, and get in touch with us if you would like to find out more.
