We are delighted to be leading the High Street heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) Consortium, with support from Kirklees Council and TOWNSOUNDS. The Consortium is made-up of a diverse membership of local interest groups, businesses, and community organisations delivering a series of events up until December 2023.
Each year covers a various theme, 2021 being ‘Sport and Wellbeing’ to tie-in with the 2021 Rugby World Cup, 2022 ‘Arrivals’, reflecting the diverse make-up of Huddersfield and, finally, 2023’s theme is ‘Music’, to complement the Kirklees Year of Music 2023.
This programme of activities and events is part of the four-year-long High Streets Heritage Action Zones’ Cultural Programme, led by Historic England, in partnership with Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The Cultural Programme aims to make our high streets more attractive, engaging, and vibrant places for people to live, work and spend time.
