Children’s Capital of Culture Manifesto Launch

‘In 2025, Rotherham will become the world’s first Children’s Capital of Culture. It’s a big title for a borough with a big dream.’

On Thursday 12 January we had the honour of producing the Rotherham’s Children’s Capital of Culture Manifesto Launch event at Gulliver’s Valley. The event was attended by over 100 guests, and saw businesses and partners from in and around Rotherham come and enjoy an evening of theatre, dance, music and skateboarding. Audiences were first to see the Manifesto as well as the roadmap to 2025.

The main collaborators for the Children’s Capital of Culture include Rotherham Council, Grimm & Co, Gulliver’s and Flux Rotherham, in a project that began in 2017 as a concept to reimagine Rotherham, considering what an ideal Rotherham would look like for children and young people in terms of arts and culture.

Sending huge thanks to everyone who supported us in the production of the event, particularly to event performers – the fantastic Rationale Arts and Skate It Yourself (pictured below with the Mayor of Rotherham: Cllr Tajamal Khan).

We look forward to sharing more images and information about the Manifesto with you soon.
