Talented people from Yorkshire, we need you! Interested in taking part in a unique play that shines the spotlight on what it’s like to live in Huddersfield?
We are searching for aspiring actors for our new play, HD100. Through bespoke interviews of 100 people, the production will give a surprising, funny and emotional snapshot of what it’s like living in Huddersfield and celebrates its culture, residents and workers.
Susan Burns, Creative Producer of Chol Theatre, explains; “Our artistic programme is driven by our desire to involve people in making art and we will be sharing real people’s experiences of what it’s like living in this dynamic town.
We’re looking for anyone over 16 years old who has a real passion for performance and storytelling to put themselves forward for audition, no previous experience is necessary. If you’re willing to take a risk and have a bit of fun, come along to our audition. We need people who span different generations, religions, cultures and backgrounds to help us portray the unique atmosphere of our vibrant town.
Even those prone to stage fright are encouraged to attend, Chol Theatre is a charity and backstage support is required. Auditions will take place at the Lawrence Batley Theatre at 12.30pm on Saturday 12th March and take the form of an open drama workshop, run by the show’s director, Amanda Huxtable. There’s no need to book, just meet the team at the box office. Those who are successful will be cast in the play, HD100, which will premier at the Lawrence Batley Theatre for two nights on the 14th and 15th April.
