Call to Action – Arts in Barnsley
This June, Chol looks forward to producing ‘Festival Of Joy’ themed activity for young people based in Barnsley, in collaboration with the Open College of Arts (OCA) and Fusion (the Barnsley LCEP).
With their joined-up knowledge and skill-sets of working in multiple disciplines of the arts, the three organisations aim to create a balanced and strong partnership that supports the growth of arts and culture in the Barnsley area.
In advance of the Festival of Joy, and to understand what young people want from the festival and other arts and cultural activities in the Barnsley area, Chol and the OCA are looking for honest opinions from young people aged 14-25 who live in Barnsley and are interested in the arts. In collaboration with Fusion, we seek to discover what, in terms of arts and culture, is missing in Barnsley, and explore the different types of arts and cultural activities that young people would like to see and get involved with.
In order to gain meaningful feedback from young people, we are planning a mixture of research-based activities, including consultation days, online forms and online drop-in sessions. More information will be provided soon.
